BE AWARE! We have an alarming increase in Winchester's positivity rate recently with social gatherings and household spread as key contributors. Now is not the time to take COVID lightly: it is still here and circulating. We urge all to continue to social distance, wear masks, and make good choices and get a vaccine when you are eligible; all necessary to get back to normal. If you choose to travel or gather with friends, take precautions. Testing adds another layer of protection and is now conveniently available at Winchester Town Hall: winchester.us/633/Covid-Testing.  Stay strong Winchester - now is not the time to give up - we got this!

World Immunization Week is April 24th-30th
During World Immunization Week, please join with Rotary to promote the power of vaccines and combat vaccine hesitancy and misinformation by spreading the facts about why #VaccinesWork

With decades of experience fighting polio, Rotary plays a key role in informing people about the power and effectiveness of vaccines. As COVID-19 vaccines become more available, Rotary members are using our experience in fighting polio to help communities with their vaccination education and organization efforts. And today, because we and our partners have worked so hard, wild poliovirus remains endemic in only two countries: Afghanistan and Pakistan. But to eradicate it there and to prevent a resurgence in other parts of the world, we must continue to build trust in vaccines and raise funds for polio eradication, including vaccine delivery.

This year, you can take action for World Immunization Week in three easy ways:
  1. Download and share our new two-minute video, “Rotary Inspires Leaders in Global Health,” and show it to your clubs. In it, global health leaders like U.S. infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Co-Chair Bill Gates, UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore, and World Health Organization Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus talk about what Rotary has achieved in the fight to end polio.
  2. Post graphics and other content from Rotary’s World Immunization Week Toolkit on social media with the hashtags #EndPolio and #VaccinesWork.
  3. Donate to Rotary’s PolioPlus Fund to help us and our partners deliver polio vaccines to vulnerable children. Your contribution will be tripled, thanks to the Gates Foundation.

You can now take Rotary’s online courses on most mobile devices!

See our how-to guide for detailed instructions or follow these steps to get started:
  1. On your mobile device, use a browser to go to my.rotary.org and sign in to My Rotary.
  2. Tap the menu at the top left of your screen.
  3. Tap the plus sign next to Learning & Reference, and then choose Learning Center.
  4. Go to your app store and download Go.Learn. Don’t open it from here.
  5. Return to your browser. From the same Learning Center page in My Rotary, tap the link to the Learning Center.
Go.Learn works with iOS10 and later as well as Android 6 and later. Note that the app has some limitations, including in some of the interactive learning options. You'll need to use a computer to download certificates or view additional resources. Links to the Learning Center may not work on mobile devices. Instead, go to the Learning Center through My Rotary, then search for materials or courses. If you have trouble using the Learning Center in Go.Learn, write to Learn@Rotary.org

Introducing Winchester Together,
a community based initiative of
coordinated events and acts of kindness
WINCHESTER TOGETHER
is a community based initiative of coordinated events and acts of kindness that offers hope and positivity to all generations of Winchester residents and our local essential workers. The goal of Winchester Together is to coordinate a series of events and acts of kindness to address the isolation and pandemic fatigue that many residents of Winchester are now experiencing. We act as a communication hub for residents and wish to promote safe activities that all generations of Winchester residents can find purpose in and enjoy.
Winchester Together is made possible by all of the Winchester organizations, businesses and people of action engaging in this coordinated campaign.  We are grateful for all they do for our community.
